Daily activities: The Middle Ages challenges you
Thus, to mark the year 2024 as the year of the organisation of the Summer Olympic Games in France, the Château de Saint Mesmin will be the theatre of "challenges". In the form of events, contests and games, the Middle Ages will be presented to the public as a "transitional" period in which men and women compete, leaving ample space for:
• physical challenges (tournament, soul, palm game, throwing game),
• culinary challenges (between hygiene, dietetics, recipes and remedies)
• challenges of the mind (board games, word games, puzzles, puzzles).
The modern motto of the Olympic Games will take on all its meaning: "Citius, Altius, Fortius,- Communiter", so to speak: "Faster (the challenges of physical culture), Higher (the challenges of the mind), Stronger (the challenges of culinary culture), Together (with the audience)".
2024 will be the year of all medieval challenges at the Château de Saint Mesmin, stories of "de(s)porter", meaning in Latin, to be distracted, to have fun and to turn away from the usual occupations.
So, from 7 July to 30 August, every day, during a summer visit, challenge the actors of the castle and "take off"!

Also available at the reception: The new great puzzle game of the castle "Haro sur l’poisonneur", in the form of an investigation to unmask who poisoned Pierre de Montfaucon, the lord of the place. A playful moment of one hour of play to do with family or friends to discover the castle while playing.
